Winter Appeal - Thorpe Family Residence

Marking the holiday season of light and hope with Hanukkah and Christmas, I ask you to continue your support of these most vulnerable families we serve each day.

Thorpe Family Residence provides emergency shelter for 60 to 70 homeless family members, 80% of whom are children under the age of 13. Our emergency pantry, in operation for 15 years, provides essential food for 120 families. Park Avenue Thorpe consists of supportive housing units for 20 families and provides intensive case management support to help these formerly homeless households build their futures.

Your support today will make this success possible for others who come through our doors during the holiday season and beyond.

Your financial support will help us continue the tremendous impact the Dominican Sisters and their partners have made. What does a gift do?

  • $650 will provide new furniture for well-worn shelter apartments
  • $500 will support our after school activities and healthy snacks for kids in shelter for 2 weeks
  • $128 will keep a family in shelter for one night, complete with food and all essentials
  • $60 sponsors a training for supportive housing residents as they build their futures
  • $35 provides a week of groceries for a family of 4 through our food pantry
  • $25 will provide newborn babies with clothing
